Manali Solang Valley Beas Kund- 4 Nts

This beautiful valley is just 13 Kms from Manali and the
trek starts from the Old Manali village. The trail goes
on a ridge high over the river Beas and by passes a
couple of old villages. Solang Valley itself offers some
spectacular views of the famous peaks in the Kullu
valley. Our destination is the Beas Kund a small
glaciated lake and the source of the River Beas.
Day 1: Manali – Old Manali Village – Solang Valley
(2483m): 4 Hours
Today the trek leads out of Old Manali village high
above the River Beas along a well-defined path. We cross
the two ancient villages of Shanag and Burua before
reaching the beautiful Solang Valley which doubles as a
Ski resort in winters. Camp overnight in the lush green
meadows.
Day 2: Solang – Patalsu Peak (3963m) & Back: 5 Hours
Today we trek and climb the 3963-metre high Patalsu peak
from where great views of the surrounding mountain peaks
can be had. We return by late evening to Solang
Valley and camp.
Day 3: Solang – Dhundhi – Bhakarthatch pastures (3300m):
5 Hours
Today the trail leads uphill from Solang Valley through
green meadows and trees of alder, pine and fir to the
grazing pastures of Bhakarthatch. Camp here for the
night with excellent views of the surrounding mountain
peaks.
Day 4: Bhakarthatch – Beas Kund (4471m) & Back: 6 Hours
The trail again climbs steeply towards the beautiful
glaciated lake of Beas Kund which is also one of the
sources of the River Beas. Get close views of Hanuman
Tibba, Friendship and other famous peaks of Manali.
Day 5: Bhakarthatch – Dhundhi – Solang – 6 Hours (Back
to Manali by Jeep)
We head back the same way we walked up. |
